Home under-eye compressesIt is said that the eyes are the windows to the soul. We can stare at them for hours if eyes are beautiful, well-taken care of and rested. However, what if eyes are tired, red and have dark circles? Luckily, we can apply home under-eye compresses to impress others with our look again!

Dark circles under tired eyes – reasons.

The truth is, there are plenty of reasons why our eyes look fatigued. The most common though are allergies, vitamin shortage, thyroid and kidney diseases, anaemia, excessive under eye skin pigmentation, genetic predispositions, stress, sleep deficiency, intake of some medications, alcohol consumption, cigarette smoking, air pollution, low blood pressure, working at artificial lightening and spending long hours in front of a computer screen.

Home under-eye compresses.

Respite from the fatigue and dark circles may provide compresses that can be easily applied at home. They will highlight and moisturise skin around eyes, reduce swellings and ease irritations. Additionally, compresses will enable you to relax better.

Tea under-eye compresses. Prepare black tea, and when it cools down, take cotton pads and damp them into this black mixture. Squeeze them delicately and put into the refrigerator and kept them surrounded with low temperature for an hour. Put the tea cotton pads out only to be applied on eyes. In fact, instead of the pads, you can use tea bags that also have to be stored in a refrigerator for an hour. Keep the tea under-eye compress on for approximately 20 minutes.

Milk under-eye compresses. This is one of the easiest compresses to prepare. It will reduce swellings under eyes. Suffice to damp cotton pads in cool semi-fat milk and keep them on the eyes for more or less fifteen minutes.

Cucumber under-eye compresses. This is as old as the world remedy for tired eyes. It freshens up, moistures, highlights and regenerates fatigued skin. Suffice to slice a cucumber and place this round pieces on eyes. It is also suggested applying peels of a cucumber on face, prepare a cucumber toner or cucumber water (and damp cotton pads afterwards).

Potato under-eye compresses. This vegetable reduces swellings and moistures skin around eyes. The manner of application is a cucumber alike – it has to be sliced and put on eyes. Mind you, it is not a good idea to prepare a potato toner. Potato slices have to be kept on eyes for more or less 15 minutes.

Ice-cube under-eye compresses. Indeed, ice massage or ice-cube under-eye compresses improve blood circulation. You can wrap the ice-cubes in a towel and put them onto your eyes or take two ice cubes into hands and give your face a massage. Remember to put a towel on your chest or back so as to prevent a pillow on which you lie or clothing you are wearing from getting wet.
